Part of the Slate Island Collection: paintings inspired by trips to the Inner Hebrides islands of Easdale and Seil, off the North West coast of Scotland.

Around 60 people live on Easdale permanently. There are no roads, and no cars. Dotted around the island are small clusters of white miners’ cottages.

There is a small hill in the centre of the island called Smiddy Brae. It affords magnificent views across the Firth of Lorn, and the island of Mull. Small ladders can often be seen coming down to the water.
