Part of the Slate Island Collection: paintings inspired by trips to the Inner Hebrides islands of Easdale and Seil, off the North West coast of Scotland.

Memory and imagination combine to invent this island. The ghosts of the past rise up out of the remnants of the industry on Easdale. They emerge from chimneys and begin to threaten the small cottages perched on the rock. Only a ramshackle ladder provides the means of escape and hope, but it is rickety and looks unreliable.
