Part of the Slate Island Collection: paintings inspired by trips to the Inner Hebrides islands of Easdale and Seil, off the North West coast of Scotland.
Another early attempt to fuse different experiences of my time on Seil within a collage technique. Includes text from a 19C report on an old school-house on the Island of Seil. Taken from the text of a book about the Island. Both this image and Cuan Ferry were made after my first trip to the Slate Islands in 2018.
I was trying to get closer to having a visual response to how I felt about the place after my first trip. It is such a rich area to visit, full of historical and social history, and wild scenery.
