Part of the Slate Island Collection: paintings inspired by trips to the Inner Hebrides islands of Easdale and Seil, off the North West coast of Scotland.

The walls of the old flooded quarries around Easdale jut out into the Atlantic Ocean. Beyond is the roiling rolling sea, and on the horizon the land mass of the island of Mull. The walls protect the calm deep pools that often reach depths of 60 or 70 metres. Traces of the Iron Pyrites can be seen against the blue slate and the clear water reflects the walls as they fall away.
